Scripture for Saturday, August 19 (8/19)

The scripture for today, August 19 (8/19), is Isaiah 8:19f as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

Life-Changing-Scriptures-Cover-medium“When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.”

It has always been popular among some people to try to reach into the spirit world, the world of demons and the dead. They may be very religious people. They may pray a lot and go to worship a lot and read the Bible a lot. But God’s word is not enough for them, so they delve into the other world.

God says “they have no light of dawn.” It crowds out and nullifies any Christianity they may have.

Do you want to talk to someone in the other world? Pray. God is in the other world. Do you want someone in the other world to talk to you? Read the Bible. That is God talking to you from the other world. What more could we ask?!

Choose today. We cannot have it both ways. One way is guessing.  The other way is knowing. Do you want the light of dawn in you?  Come back to God alone and feel safe under his wings. He has given you all you need.  ALL.

Scripture for Saturday, July 15 (7/15)

The scripture for today, July 15 (7/15), is Matthew 7:15 as found in the New Testament of the Bible.

REV-Cover-Kindle“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”

Jesus said this. Maybe sometimes the “false prophet” is within ourselves. We have a pet theory that we want very much for God to agree with us on. So, we read through the Scriptures trying to prove our point correct. Of course, taking a verse here and a verse there, you can “prove” anything you want.

So how do we find out if we are being our own “false prophet”? When we see a verse that contradicts our pet theory, look for other scriptures similar to this one. Use a concordance ~ a book that lists alphabetically every word in the Bible and every verse it appears in.

Or, if we believe in a different holy book of a different world religion, we can read it, then honestly search for built-in proofs it is truly holy. Thereby we can decide if we’ve been listening to a false prophet.

And as you honestly struggle, pray about it.

Yes, it is humiliating to believe we just might have been wrong, and then actually admit we were wrong. But it is also liberating.

Many people have already gone through this and can testify that changing from our viewpoint to God’s viewpoint is not only liberating but ultimately brings peace.

Scripture for Saturday, May 27 (5/27)

The scripture for today, May 27 (5/27), is Job 5:27 as found in the Old Testament of the Bible:

changes-in-worship-cover-medium“We have examined this, and it is true. So hear it and apply it to yourself.”

How many times have we gone to worship or listened on TV to a minister/priest/rabbi/imam and believed everything he said because the speaker looked so holy and convincing? Isn’t that confusing when so many different religious leaders teach different things, often conflicting?

What is the answer to this dilemma? Examine the Bible for yourself! You’re smart! You can do it!

The best way is to get a concordance. It has every word in the Bible alphabetically, and every scripture that contains that word. If you want to know God’s opinion instead of man’s, use your concordance and look up every passage your chosen topic appears in. You can buy one (it is the size of an unabridged dictionary), or use one on the internet.

Then examine everything God ~ not man ~ has to say about anything. Then there are no doubts. Then you know the truth and are ready to apply it to yourself.
